Deja Rove

The 2006 elections are going to be rerun of the last three. Vote Republican or the terrorists will win. Haven't I seen this movie before? Karl Rove, vigilantly watching not the borders for terrorists but whether he'll get indicted for betraying an undercover CIA operative said the other day, "Republicans have a post-9/11 worldview" on national security, "and many Democrats have a pre-9/11 worldview." Republicans are Jack Bauer and Democrats are Osama Bin Laden according to The White House. It's a rerun of the propoganda peddled by the chickenhawks in the Republican party but as long as it works they'll use anything and everything as a means to an end. Nothing original here. It works in D.C. and L.A.

Apparently Hollywood has no original ideas either. I'm not talking about sequels although there are a number coming out. (Can't wait for X-Men 3) I'm talking about remakes/reruns. First there was "Fun with Dick & Jane" a remake of the 1977 movie with Jane Fonda and George Segal. There is "Dirty" which looks and sounds pretty darn close to "Training Day." "Annapolis?" Try "An Officer and a Gentleman. There is also talk of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon remaking "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" because, obviously, they didn't get it right the first time. And then there is the remake of "When a Stranger Calls" a remake of the 1979 movie of the same name. Remember "The call is coming from inside the house" line? Well the call in politics is coming from inside the house. The terror and fear marketed by the Republicans is to make you forget the bad story line of corruption, cronyism and incompetence. Fear can't kill you, incompetence can. Just ask the people of New Orleans.

The 2006 is shaping up to be a fear-based fear-mongering retread of the last few elections. The Republicans, having failed to prevent 9/11 and then failed to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden Ayman al-Zawahiri and Mullah Omar, failed to secure Iraq or prevent the orgy of slaughter going on there, failed to protect a U.S. CIA uncover operative named Valarie Plame, failed to adequately respond to Hurricane Katrina and failed to offer anything but fear and loathing to the country and the world are now happily ready to produce the 2006 election into a movie we've all seen before. Are you going to buy a ticket?

I'll bring the popcorn. Since we subsidize corn I might as well enjoy it.

So I guess the call from inside the house will be easier to explain in When a stranger calls remake. But he'd have to get past caller ID. I assume he's calling from a cell phone.

What a bunch of nonsense! "Republicans are Jack Bauer and Democrats are Osama Bin Laden according to The White House." what are you talking about? No one has ever seriously said Democrats are Osama bin Laden - the pre-9/11 mentality is referrign to the idea of allowing the terrorists to come to you first and then reacting, rather than capturing/killing them first. So far, you can bet your ass it is working. They are on the run and have no time to plan out an attack similar to 9/11.

The republicans didn't stop 9/11? How can you blame that on the republicans and not the dems as well? Failed to respond to Katrina? The New Orleans mayor and Louisiana governor are both horrifyingly liberal and run far more corrupt governing bodies than the eeevil republicans could ever dream of. They are far more to blame than the republicans for the failed response. How do your readers allow you to spout nonsense like this - check your brain at the door...

Guess I imagined all the "Osama is repeating Democratic talking points" crap I hear from Rove and Fox News. Guess I also imagined the refusal of the White House to cooperate in the Katrina investigation. If they have nothing to hide why hide it. That's not just me but good little Republicans like Sen. Vitner and Collins. Check my brain? Get a brain then check your facts.

Osama does repeat the democratic talking points! If you read the translations, it is basically Michael Moore with a little John Kerry mixed in. But that doesn't make democrats terrorists - you claim that Democrats are Osama bin Laden occarding to the White House - let's see you find a quote for us.
I don't know enough about the Katrina investigations, but I would certainly agree with you - they should cooperate if they have nothing to hide. You def. didn't respond to my comments about the ignorance of your statement leaving out the democrat control over the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana - my guess is because you realize how ridiculous your bashing of the Republican party got. Unhinged and baseless comments will continue if your audience doesn't analyze what you write and think about it for a second.

Hard to respond point by point in the comments section but I guess if and when a terrorist attack occurs on a major American city like LA or Seattle I guess we should look to the city mayor to handle emergency response or the Feds through Dept. of Homeland Security? If New Orleans is any measure of how well our Dept. Of Homeland Security is ready for a disaster whether natural or terroist made then we really have no Homeland Security and your precious Republicans shouldn't be in charge of running it or the government.
